Technology brings many opportunities (easy work, equal access, collective – creative works, capacity building). But also, it brings potential problems (bullying – low security – unfair competition – threatening - malicious uses). Especially the sudden rise of open AI tools (ChatGPT, DALL-E, Midjourney etc) on internet since last summer initiated new discussions about the ethic of internet. Having an approach for digital ethics does not mean only “risk management”, it means also how to “do things in right way”. Virtual life without ethical approaches can be very risky and dangerous for youngsters. There are many fake news-contents, lie, conspiracy theories, and malevolent users. Besides, protection of privacy and individual life can be in danger as well. There are many suspicious accounts, contents, platforms where all data of users can be stolen and misused. If youngsters are not aware of their responsibilities and do not take action for raising awareness, digital developments will bring more risks. Moreover, the need to promote active citizenship and community involvement is essential to building fairer and more equitable societies for social justice, equality, human rights, privacy and data protection online motivated us to implement this YE.
