Through this project, our main goal was to offer young people with fewer opportunities a unique chance to explore Europe and, in the process, experience personal growth. We wanted to create an environment where they could step out of their comfort zones, gain confidence, and develop life skills that will serve them long after the trip. By allowing the youth to decide the travel route and the activities themselves through a democratic process, we also aimed to empower them and promote active participation. Objectives of the project: Empowerment & Independence: We wanted participants to gain self-confidence by being part of an international travel experience. By taking ownership of planning the route and making decisions as a group, they were encouraged to trust in their abilities and make choices confidently. Cultural Awareness: Traveling across different European countries, we aimed for the participants to develop a deeper understanding of various cultures. This experience was about fostering openness, tolerance, and respect for diversity. Skill Development: Through this project, we aimed to develop essential life skills in the participants, including planning, budgeting, problem-solving, and teamwork. These practical skills are valuable in both personal and professional settings. Social Inclusion: We strived to create a space where participants, who might otherwise face barriers, could feel included, supported, and engaged throughout the process. The focus was on building community and solidarity among the group. Leadership & Teamwork: By encouraging participants to collaborate, we aimed to nurture leadership qualities and enhance their ability to work as part of a team, all while facing the real-life challenges of travel. Environmental Awareness: A key objective was to ensure the experience was environmentally conscious. We focused on eco-friendly travel options and encouraged sustainable practices throughout the journey. In summary, our aim was for each participant to leave the project more confident, culturally aware, and equipped with new skills, while also having had a meaningful and memorable experience traveling through Europe!
