Main Objective: - We introduced and strengthened knowledge of EU values among trainers and learners, - We encouraged participation in democratic, civic, and social life, - We provided knowledge about the diversity of European nations, common values, history, and current issues. Specific Objectives: - We improved the knowledge and competences of educators regarding the history, principles, and values of the EU, - We implemented numerous activities aimed at adults that promoted EU values (newsletters, fun pages, articles, sharing experiences with local partners), - We organized classes that promoted EU values, - We integrated information about the project, its goals, and especially EU priorities into other partner activities (e.g., other Erasmus+ projects, conferences/seminars/meetings for the local community), - We prepared materials to help shape informed, responsible, and tolerant EU citizens, - Through joint activities of partners, we promoted the principles of cooperation with European NGOs.
Young people learn about the EU in schools. There is a not so many opportunities for the older generation. They often don't remember their country's accession to the EU, don't reflect on its values, use stereotypes, travel abroad rarely or never, have little contact with citizens of other EU countries, and derive their knowledge of the realities of life in the EU from the media. The picture is obscured by a large amount of fake news and manipulation (e.g., AI-generated materials). Based on research among our own trainers and students, and observations of adult education offerings, we have concluded that there is a need for actions promoting EU values. This is and is becoming increasingly important in the face of the changing geopolitical situation (armed conflicts, economic situation, etc.).
