Objectives

The aim of the “ECO TECHNO” project was to improve the quality and modernity of education by developing skills essential for the 21st century, such as communication in foreign languages, effective use of digital tools, teamwork, and environmentally responsible attitudes. We sought to increase the effectiveness of English language teaching in an international context by integrating ecological and technological themes. The project promoted conscious and responsible use of ICT in education and encouraged environmentally friendly behaviours. A key objective was also the inclusion of students with special educational needs and migrant backgrounds through joint international activities that strengthened their self-worth and sense of belonging. Through cooperation between schools from Poland, Romania, and Slovenia, we aimed to foster the exchange of good pedagogical practices, inspire teachers to implement project-based learning, and develop the European dimension of education based on collaboration, tolerance, and civic engagement. The project also focused on enhancing cross-curricular cooperation, building educational partnerships, and ensuring the sustainable implementation of innovative teaching methods in everyday school practice.

Background

We applied for the project “ECO TECHNO" in response to the identified need to modernise the teaching and learning process in our schools by developing essential skills among students and teachers, including language, digital, ecological, and social competences. We addressed challenges such as the low effectiveness of English language teaching in real-life communication, insufficient use of ICT tools in education, lack of student motivation, and limited environmental awareness. Additionally, the project aimed to enhance the inclusion of students with fewer opportunities, including those with migrant backgrounds and special educational needs, in school life and international activities. Cooperation with partners from Romania and Slovenia enabled the exchange of good practices, implementation of innovative teaching methods, and creation of educational materials in a multilingual and digital environment. The project not only aimed to make learning more engaging and effective but also to foster active, responsible, and environmentally conscious European citizenship. We also aimed to strengthen cross-curricular collaboration, the integration of school and local communities, and the promotion of European values.
