By implementing this project, we want to bring young people with fewer opportunities from Gondomar closer to Europe. We want them to develop their skills and critical thinking beyond the social context where they were born and raised, internalizing that they are part of the European project, so they can and should contribute to it. By doing so, we enhance not only the private life of these young people, but also the community where they are inserted, being disseminators not only of the experience they have but also new ways of being and learning. By creating impact in the lives of these young people, we are creating impact on their families, peer groups and community, bringing to Gondomar the opportunity to retain empowered and consciously youth. The Vai Avante Association is widely known in Porto district, having extensive experience in local, regional, national and European projects in youth area and topics and, in particular, involving young people with fewer opportunities. By involving young people and their families in this project through our Association, we are bringing coherence, trust, accompaniment and structure to their participation. Working in proximity - through various social projects we develop - with young people and families with fewer opportunities and we want to leverage the experiences we provide in a local context to a European context, giving these young people the opportunity to truly feel part of an Europe where they live. We believe that only in this way will they also be able to participate actively in a Europe free of prejudice and open to all. We have established the following objectives for this project: 1. Disseminate and demystify the Discovery EU program, while promoting the transversal social inclusion of young people and their families; 2. Creation of a European network of young people with fewer opportunities who can collaborate in Discovery EU mobilities by becoming mentors; 3. Implementation and evaluation of a personalized learning plan for each participant; 4. Autonomy and self-esteem promotion as a young adult. The central theme of this project is "I am Europe". We therefore want these young people to feel and internalise their European belonging, with the expectation of launching new projects in the future. At the same time, we want these young people to promote with other young people - from their peer group - the opportunities of programmes such as Erasmus+ or the European Solidarity Corps, stressing that these opportunities are available and available to all.
