Objectives

By implementing this project, we aim to achieve lasting impact in education, environmental awareness, and digital readiness, fully aligned with EU priorities. Our goal is to foster intercultural awareness and equip students with knowledge, values, and competences to address climate change through innovative, engaging methods. We want to raise students’ and teachers’ understanding of global environmental challenges, develop problem-solving and green skills, and encourage sustainable practices such as water conservation, wildlife protection, and energy reduction. Through kinaesthetic and storytelling approaches, flipped classrooms, and CALL, we intend to strengthen key competences, enhance ICT proficiency, and support multilingualism. Concrete outcomes include a Green Skills Handbook, innovative curriculum modules, digital resources, and a collaborative platform to ensure long-term use and dissemination. Ultimately, we aim to instill eco-friendly values, active citizenship, and resilience, creating a generation of informed, responsible European citizens and stronger, future-ready educational institutions.

Background

We applied for this project to address urgent needs identified in our schools and communities: low environmental awareness, insufficient ICT integration, and a lack of cross-cultural understanding among students. Surveys revealed serious misconceptions about climate change causes, showing a critical knowledge gap that must be filled to prepare responsible citizens. Our project responds to these needs by combining innovative teaching approaches with environmental education, fully aligned with the European Green Deal and digital transformation goals. It empowers students with problem-solving, ICT, and language skills while promoting eco-friendly values, active citizenship, and intercultural competence. Teachers and institutions benefit from new methodologies, enhanced prestige, and higher educational standards. Beyond education, the project addresses societal challenges such as overconsumption, disconnection from nature, and climate anxiety. By fostering awareness, cooperation, and behavioral change, we aim to plant the seed of a sustainable legacy, ensuring that today’s learners become tomorrow’s environmentally responsible European citizens.
