The project aimed to increase students’ understanding of sustainability and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by using gamification and digital tools. We wanted to make environmental topics more engaging through hands‑on activities, digital game creation, and collaboration in international teams. Another key objective was to strengthen students’ digital competence, creativity, and problem‑solving skills by introducing block‑based programming, 3D game design, and interactive learning methods. The project also sought to improve communication and English language skills, encourage intercultural cooperation, and build confidence in expressing ideas. By partnering with Clomosy Inc. for expert support in game design, we aimed to give students access to innovative learning tools and real‑world digital practices. Overall, the project intended to motivate students, promote green thinking, and integrate modern digital approaches into sustainability education.
The project was created to address several needs identified in all partner schools. Students required stronger digital skills, especially in game‑based learning and creative use of technology. At the same time, teachers needed new methods to make complex topics such as sustainability, climate change, and biodiversity more engaging and accessible. The project also responded to the need for greater environmental awareness among young people, helping them understand the 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the importance of responsible behaviour. Another key need was improving communication, collaboration, and English language skills through international teamwork. The partnership also aimed to reduce gaps between schools by offering equal access to innovative tools, including support from Clomosy Inc., which provided expertise in digital game design. Overall, the project was designed to combine sustainability education with modern digital approaches, motivating students and preparing them for future challenges.
