The main objectives that we aimed to achieve through the implementation of the project were the following:Development of STEAM Skills for Teachers: We wanted to develop the skills of teaching staff in using the STEAM Education approach in their daily work with preschool children. The ultimate goal was the effective integration of all children in learning and socialization activities. This will be achieved through their participation in international experience exchanges during the project.Increasing Children's Awareness of Social and Cultural Diversity: We aimed to increase children's awareness of social and cultural diversity. This will be achieved by promoting tolerance, acceptance and coexistence in harmony, equality and diversity with the people around them. Increasing STEAM Activities in Kindergartens. We aimed to increase the number of STEAM activities in the project's partner kindergartens. This will support and improve connections with participants from different backgrounds, strengthening inclusion. Improving Community Relations. Our goal was to improve relationships between families of children with CES and typical families.
Taking into account the priorities of education at the European level, inclusion, human diversity, acceptance and tolerance are key needs that the "Harmony and Equity in Diversity" project seeks to address. The needs that were identified and led to the submission of this application are the following: Need to strengthen understanding and acceptance of diversity: There is a need to help preschool children and their parents understand what inclusion and diversity means. This includes training in skills of understanding, acceptance and tolerance of people, developing empathy and respect for the rights of all people, as well as integrating all individuals in social and educational activities, regardless of their differences. Need for restructuring of educational methods to address difficulties and disabilities: The wide range of difficulties and disabilities that children face from early childhood requires a restructuring of the way of working with them. Learning activity needs to be adapted, which requires continuous learning and preparation of teachers to achieve the best results.Need for adopting innovative educational approaches: Teachers need continuous training.
