Objectives

Objective 1: Boost the ability of SMEs in manufacturing to support employees with disabilities via digital tools for different kinds of disabilities. This will be achieved via 3 work based learning sessions & teaching factories in which partners will demonstrate digital solutions for supporting people with disabilities and will train SME managers on how to use them, while also piloting the solutions. Objective 2: Increase the flexibility of opportunities in vocational education and training by providing access to education to people with disabilities. This is to be done by certifying 100+ learners via micro-credentials, and delivering educational materials that include 50 pages of content, technology demonstration video resources, 50 power point slides in the form of Training materials, and 80 multiple choice questions (divided by Modules) for knowledge assessment and certification purposes. Objective 3: Develop 3 policy briefings (on better supporting employees with disabilities in manufacturing) and organise 3 policy roundtables with local authorities in charge of employment, social services and tech in order to commit them to supporting access to technologies for supporting employees with disabilities in manufacturing SMEs.

Background

This project was driven by the goal of fostering inclusivity and diversity in the manufacturing sector in Romania, Greece and Serbia. It tried to recognise the untapped potential of individuals with disabilities and aimed to provide them with equal access to education and employment opportunities. By doing so, the consortium aimed to contribute to creating a more inclusive society and workforce. SMEs are nowadays leaders on the job creation market, however, they often lack the resources and knowledge to accommodate employees with disabilities effectively. The ENABLE project aimed to address this challenge and help bridge the unemployment gap in this field by creating free training opportunities and up-skilling the workforce. As such, this project aimed to address the needs of its three target groups: 1) SME managers/employees - Insufficient knowledge on how to support employees with disabilities with the help of digital tools in the workplace. 2) People with disabilities - Inability for up-skilling and accessing employment opportunities due to lack of digital skills and societal stigma. 3) Policy makers - Lack of understanding of what SMEs need in terms of skills and digital tools to support employment of people with disabilities.
