Objectives

By implementing the project, we aimed to achieve the following objectives: 1. Developing students’ socio-professional competences in the agriculture field (livestock/veterinary and horticulture specializations) within a European working context. 2. Improving students’ adapting skills to the requirements and changes of the educational and professional environment. 3. Promoting segregation in schools and equal chances in education for all students. 4. Assuring a personalized training programme focusing on students’ skills and needs.

Background

The motivation for applying for this project derives from the responsibility and the need of our institution to ensure an updated theoretical and practical study program, anchored in the reality of the European labor market and, equally, focused on capitalizing on personal skills and reducing vulnerabilities. By entering into a cross-border partnership we wanted to establish connections with 2 private institutions in Portugal, which offered the opportunity to carry out a practical training internship in the agriculture field and a model for promoting equal opportunities in education and professional training. Thus, it was considered, on the one hand, the need to supplement practical training at local economic agents, with international experience, and, on the other hand, the need to ensure an individualized path appropriate to individual skills or vulnerabilities. Last but not least, authentic communication, based on mutual respect, between partners with different experiences, traditions, and mentalities would meet the personal and professional development needs of all those involved.
