The project had 6 objectives and all of them were achieved. By implementing the project, we aimed to empower young people to critically understand media, create ethical content and actively participate in democratic life. The project focused on building practical media literacy skills, promoting responsible journalism and ensuring inclusive access for young people with and without disabilities. It sought to develop accessible tools, training programmes and open educational resources, while encouraging cross-border cooperation between youth workers, educators and media organisations. Ultimately, the goal was to amplify diverse youth voices, promote human rights and ethical values in media and create more inclusive, informed and engaged communities across Europe.
We applied for this project to respond to the growing impact of misinformation, declining trust in media, and the limited opportunities for young people, especially those with disabilities and fewer opportunities to take part in public dialogue. Many young people are active digital media users but lack the skills to critically evaluate information, create ethical content, and engage in democratic processes. The project addressed the need for practical media literacy tools, inclusive learning environments, and accessible platforms that empower youth to become responsible media creators and active citizens, while ensuring that diverse voices are represented in journalism and public discourse across Europe.
