By implementing this project, we aimed to achieve several key goals. First, we sought to raise awareness of sustainability by educating students on environmental challenges and the importance of adopting sustainable practices. Through hands-on activities, we wanted students to gain a deeper understanding of sustainable food systems, waste reduction, and the impact of their consumption. Second, we aimed to provide practical learning experiences in sustainable agriculture and local food production. Activities such as farm visits and cooking workshops gave students actionable skills to apply in their daily lives. We also wanted to foster intercultural exchange by bringing students from different countries together to share diverse perspectives on sustainability. Finally, we aimed to promote personal responsibility by encouraging students to reflect on their behavior and adopt sustainable habits. Ultimately, the project aimed to empower students to become active advocates for sustainability within their communities and to work and keep on with this lifestyle in the future.
We applied for this project to address the need for sustainability education and intercultural understanding among young people. With growing concerns over climate change, it is essential to equip students with practical knowledge on sustainable living and environmental stewardship. Our schools identified a gap in hands-on sustainability learning, which this project aims to fill. Additionally, by bringing together students from different countries, we sought to foster global collaboration and cultural exchange. This project empowers students to make informed, sustainable choices and develop a broader, more inclusive worldview.
