The aim was to promote small communities to counteract individualistic thinking. It was also to support the identity of minority groups and encourage individuals to take responsibility.

Background

The project was launched to address gaps identified in adult learning, particularly in the areas of community development and self-improvement. We wanted to direct the individualistic mindset of those in mid-life crisis towards small communities, to develop their self-awareness, individual responsibility and support their minority identity. With our publication we want to help small communities get started. Based on research and feedback, we identified the following needs: Lack of self-awareness and personal development: Many adults struggle with low self-confidence and limited opportunities for personal growth. Community links become weaker: Due to digitalization and fast-paced lifestyles, face-to-face interactions are decreasing, leading to social isolation. Lack of support for mental well-being: Stress, burnout, and mental health challenges are becoming increasingly common among adults. Low level of civic engagement: There are few opportunities for individuals to actively contribute to the development of their communities. The aim of the project was to provide practical tools and support to address these needs and to promote the personal and community development of participants and support the start-up of small communities
