Objectives

Through the “World of Mathematics: An Intercultural Journey through the Realm of Numbers” Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project, we aimed to promote an inclusive and innovative approach to mathematics education within the field of youth work and to create learning environments tailored to the diverse needs and interests of young people. The main objectives of our project were: To equip youth workers and educators with innovative teaching methods and tools, increasing young people’s motivation towards mathematics and creating a positive learning atmosphere. To encourage networking and collaboration among youth organisations from different countries, enabling the exchange of good practices. To ensure the full inclusion of young people from disadvantaged and marginalised groups, providing a supportive environment where every participant could actively engage. To demonstrate the value of non-formal learning in mathematics and contribute to the development of problem-solving, analytical thinking, and creative skills. To strengthen active citizenship, intercultural dialogue, and social cohesion by using mathematics as a common language. To build the capacity of participating organisations and youth workers, enabling them to use the knowledge and resources gained during the project in the long term. To raise awareness about the importance of STEM education in youth work, supporting young people’s personal development, employability, and active participation in society. Overall, with this project, we aimed to show that mathematics can be approached in a creative and inclusive way and to highlight its significant role in young people’s daily lives and future opportunities.
