The world is under threat due to excessive population growth and unconscious water consumption. As a result of global warming, it is expected that by 2040, spring rainfall will decrease by 20% and air temperatures will rise by 2–3°C. The annual per capita water availability remains far below the critical limits. For these reasons, it has long been time for us to take action against the water scarcity our planet is facing. Currently, 11 cities around the world are struggling with water scarcity, and one of them is Istanbul. Therefore, we carried out our project to raise awareness about water scarcity and to promote consciousness on water conservation. We aimed to use an important opportunity like a youth exchange to create awareness among young people. Our goal is to spread the idea of water conservation and inform as many people as possible about the risk of water scarcity, through our participants who wish to take part in volunteer activities and make a difference with the opportunities offered by Erasmus+. The main objectives of our project are as follows: -To learn various practical applications for daily life to help prevent water scarcity and to acquire skills in this regard -To integrate the concept of sustainability into all aspects of our lives and make conservation a habit -To introduce eco-friendly practices and materials -To raise young people’s awareness of environmental policies and encourage them to support such policies -To increase young people’s participation in workshops and movements related to environmental issues -To increase the visibility of national and international organizations working on environmental issues -To develop young people’s key competences -To reach people everywhere through social media accounts created for our project and raise large-scale awareness about water conservation -To ensure that more people hear about the Erasmus+ programme and youth exchanges, thereby enabling more individuals to benefit from these opportunities
