With this project implemented by us, we aimed to raise social awareness against substance abuse, which has become one of the most serious social problems of our time, and to create awareness among the general public, especially young people. Another primary objective was to emphasize that substance abuse not only negatively impacts an individual's physical and mental health but also adversely affects their family, social circle, and the overall structure of society. Within the scope of our project, we provided informative content about what substance addiction is, how addiction begins, and what symptoms it reveals. We aimed to increase participants' knowledge on topics such as substance use disorder symptoms, withdrawal processes, decline in quality of life, and how addiction becomes a cycle over time. In this regard, awareness-raising activities were conducted for young people, parents, and volunteer youth workers. In particular, the knowledge gained by youth workers during the process was used to inform young people and the adults in their environment. Another important goal we wanted to achieve with our project was to go beyond individual efforts in the fight against substance abuse and emphasize the importance of social cooperation. The aim was to create a collective awareness process by collaborating with civil society organizations, volunteer groups, and other stakeholders. Through the events and workshops we organized within this scope, both individuals and institutions were encouraged to take action in this area. In addition, we aimed to facilitate access to the right resources for individuals in need by providing information on effective methods for combating addiction and channels to which they can turn. In this respect, our project has served as both a preventive guide and a guiding resource for individuals already struggling with this problem. The primary goal we aimed to achieve with our project was to contribute to the formation of a society that is not silent in the face of substance abuse, but rather conscious, supportive, and solution-oriented. By increasing awareness of this issue across all segments of society, we aimed to support individuals in leading healthier, more productive, and safer lives.
