The objectives of the project "The Role of Youth in Türkiye's Marine Climate Strategy" were: 1. Raising Awareness: The project aims to increase young people's awareness about the protection of the marine environment and Türkiye's role in marine climate strategy. 2. Developing Leadership Skills: It seeks to enhance leadership skills among youth so they can actively participate in environmental protection and policymaking. 3. Encouraging Active Participation: The project prioritizes engaging young people in marine environmental conservation efforts through active participation. 4. Policy Contribution: It aims to encourage young people to develop policy proposals related to Türkiye's marine climate strategy. 5. Education in Maritime Law: It is expected that participating youth will improve their knowledge in maritime law, which is an essential aspect of marine environmental protection. The project aimed to achieve: 1. Bringing young people together in physical and digital environments to communicate their ideas to decision-makers. 2. Organizing five regional workshops where youth can discuss marine pollution, the impact of climate change on seas, and maritime law. 3. Encouraging youth participation in virtual events for those unable to attend physical activities. 4. Developing policy recommendations and presenting them to relevant authorities at a national summit. 5. Providing participants in our organization with information regarding projects. These activities aimed to build a more conscious and proactive youth community capable of influencing Türkiye’s marine climate policies while fostering sustainable environmental solutions.
