Objectives

Siirt and its districts, with their socio-economic and cultural structures, host young people who have more limited opportunities compared to other regions of Turkey. Economic hardships and past terror incidents, leading to rural migrations, have complicated the access of these young individuals to national and international programs. This project aims to provide young individuals from Siirt and its surroundings, especially those who are disadvantaged and have limited opportunities at the age of 18, with the chance to visit countries like Hungary (Veszprém, Debrecen), Slovakia (Košice, Žilina), Poland (Kraków, Wrocław), and the Czech Republic (Brno, Prag) under the DiscoverEU Program. The main objective is to let them interact with different cultures, learn foreign languages, and ensure social integration. In this 12-day program, we aim to offer this experience to a total of 20 youngsters. Project Objectives: Enable youngsters to get acquainted with and interact with different cultures. Promote local, national, and international social adaptation. Open the doors for young individuals to learn foreign languages. Enhance intercultural dialogue. Provide learning opportunities and career advice to youngsters to increase their employability and social participation. Support the personal development of the youth through youth workers. Encourage the participation of the youth in international volunteer programs, supporting their social and personal growth. Promote tolerance, peace, and equal opportunity between different cultures. Recognize and appreciate youth studies, lifelong learning, and informal education. Integrate into social life those disadvantaged young individuals who have never been involved in social activities before. Advocate for social participation and inclusion. Through this project, we aim to increase the access of young people in Siirt to national and international programs, contribute to their personal and social development, introduce them to diverse cultures, and promote intercultural tolerance and understanding among young individuals.
