Objectives

Particularly in the 1950s, labor migration to West Germany was requested; The Gastarbeiter project, which we created with reference to the German word Gastarbeiter, meaning guest worker, is based on being a bridge between the past and the present and integrating Turkish youth with young people in Europe. Young people will explore Europe and discover and get to know the places where their elders lived in the past. By using the Turkey-Germany railway, young people will not only gain experience, but with direct inclusion, young people will have a journey where they can actively participate and experience social harmony by using a connection between the past and the future. By making a comparison between yesterday and today through the Turkey-Germany travel route, Turkish young people will be able to create a bridge between the past and the present, enabling young people to learn about Europe and the diaspora by experiencing them on-site. While young people will gain historical and cultural gains, they will have the opportunity to be in Europe and get to know the world. The program aims to enable 18-year-old young people to experience the diaspora, which they hear about from their elders, and to enable young people to travel on their own, instill environmental awareness and develop intercultural dialogue. In addition to a socio-cultural tour with the participants in the countries determined on the route, a field trip will be held to understand the people and social structure in the region. Participants will be expected to make observations on the issues determined during the field trip, related to the pre-determined problems and the subject that needs to be observed and analyzed. The expected effects, skills, knowledge and results on the project participants through our activities in the project are as follows: • Social awareness will be created among young people regarding expats in Germany. • Young people will improve their knowledge about the lives and social adaptation of Turks who have migrated to Germany and other parts of Europe. • Active participation of young people will be ensured by providing them with team spirit, working together, awareness of duty and responsibility and social skills. • Foreign language skills will be improved • Within the scope of the project, the social harmony of Turks in Germany, the activities of the diaspora, and their cultural interactions are the information that can be learned by traveling to Germany.
