Objectives

The "Earth`s Call" project was created to tackle climate change and environmental protection. These issues are everywhere today, and young people are particularly affected because they will have to deal with the long-term consequences. That’s why this project aimed to bring together young people from different countries, allowing them to connect and share their experiences. While the project included activities to deepen their understanding of climate change and environmental challenges, the main goal was to inspire and empower them to take action for a better future. The key objectives were: - Gaining and/or improving knowledge on the project's themes. - Gained and/or improved awareness for the personal and common responsibility for environmental sustainability. - Improved knowledge about sustainable practices on a daily basis. - Raised capacity of critical thinking about the information received in media, especially in social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, blogs ...). - Developing awareness of how to handle emotions (fear, despair, anger, etc.) in relation to climate change. - Raised awareness about the importance of the solidarity and its diverse possible forms. Since the project is based on international youth exchange, in addition to the thematic goals, we also aimed to achieve the following: - Increased respect and acceptance of diversity (gender, age, religion, ethnicity, etc.). - Gained and/or raised knowledge about other cultures’ traditions and customs. - Improved foreign language and mother tongue skills. - Improved creative, musical and/or sport abilities. - Improved writing, documenting, filming, or photographing skills We wanted to raise awareness about environmental issues like pollution (air, soil, and water), pesticide use in agriculture, and their consequences, such as rising temperatures, extreme weather, water shortages, and biodiversity loss. Giving participants the opportunity to talk about personal observations and experiences with climate change. Showing them examples of living sustainably and environmentally friendly. Motivating young people to stay positive about the future and take responsibility for protecting the planet. We also wanted to increase respect for different cultures and give the participants the possibility to learn about different cultures and nationalities.
