Objectives

The Circability project was designed to promote inclusion, personal growth and the development of skills and abilities through circus arts. At the same time, we wanted to strengthen intercultural exchange, social integration and the participation of young people with fewer opportunities in society. By combining art, culture and creativity, each participant should have the opportunity to express themselves, discover new skills and grow beyond their own expectations. The project aimed to achieve a long-term impact on the participants, the partner organisations and society as a whole by breaking down barriers, facilitating access to creative expression and using circus as an inclusive medium. GOALS DEVELOPMENT OF SKILLS The improvement of social and personal skills should strengthen the self-confidence, resilience and personal development of the participants. In particular, individuals with physical, health or social disadvantages should develop their abilities through circus arts and overcome their perceived limitations. INCLUSION & BARRIER-FREE ACCESS Creating an inclusive and accessible environment in which participants can fully participate and develop, regardless of their physical / health abilities or socio-economic background. Adapting circus techniques to different needs to show that circus arts can be for everyone. INTERCULTURAL UNDERSTANDING Promoting tolerance, collaboration and intercultural learning through teamwork and sharing experiences. PERSONAL GROWTH AND EMPOWERMENT Helping participants to overcome personal challenges and gain more self-confidence and independence. TEAMWORK Promoting teamwork and cooperation by encouraging participants to work together on performances and overcome obstacles and problems together. Promoting understanding of how different abilities and strengths can help achieve common goals. SOCIAL INCLUSION AND BREAKING STEROTYPES Questioning and changing societal perceptions of disability by showcasing the abilities of people with physical disabilities. PRESENTATION OF A FINAL PERFORMANCE Public performance of the creations developed in the project to showcase the participants' newly acquired skills and make the idea of inclusion visible. LONG-TERM IMPACT AND SUSTAINABILITY Developing training methods and tools to ensure that the project's impact is sustained beyond the youth exchange. Strengthening partnerships between organisations to create the basis for future projects and collaborations. CAPACITY BUILDING FOR CIRCUS ORGANISATIONS Developing expertise in adapting circus training to different abilities, in order to make circus arts more accessible in partner organisations and thus be able to offer inclusive programmes in the future.
