Objectives

Our organisation aimed to create an inclusive, intercultural, and creative space through dance, bringing together 35 participants and group leaders from Morocco, Turkey, Austria, Hungary, and Georgia. The main goal was to empower young people facing geographical, economic, and social barriers by engaging them in a shared artistic process that promotes self-expression, confidence, and cooperation. Through this project in Vienna, we aimed to remove participation barriers and create a more inclusive environment. Our mentors held individual reflection meetings with participants to ensure they felt comfortable and involved. These meetings also helped us track their motivation and needs. For those experiencing difficulties, we adapted the activity plans with flexibility to maintain a healthy balance. The natural and cultural environment of Vienna supported both physical and emotional well-being through outdoor activities such as walks and city tours, which also strengthened group cohesion. Participants were encouraged to take their own initiatives, which helped them develop leadership, creativity, and decision-making skills. In addition, by working with local youth and stakeholders, they had the opportunity to build new friendships, feel connected to the community, and develop a strong sense of belonging. Bianna art center has many years of experience working with young people facing geographical, economic, and social challenges. Thanks to this, we were able to create an inclusive environment that ensured meaningful participation for all young people involved. The overall objective of the project was to use dance as a universal language to foster intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and the empowerment of young people from diverse backgrounds.
