Objectives

The rationale behind our project stemed from a deep-seated commitment to empower and engage young people in a transformative journey of self-discovery, intercultural dialogue, and active citizenship. In line with the objectives outlined in the Erasmus+ funding program, our project addressed several key issues and needs faced by today's youth, all while drawing a significant link to the rich cultural heritage of the Great Spa Towns of Europe: 1. Fostering Intercultural Dialogue and European Identity: Issue: In an increasingly interconnected world, fostering a sense of belonging to a broader European community is crucial. Need: Young people often lack opportunities to engage in meaningful intercultural exchanges that enable them to embrace diversity and build a shared European identity. Objective: Our project aimed to bring together young participants from diverse backgrounds to promote intercultural dialogue, nurture a feeling of being European, and enhance cross-cultural understanding while drawing inspiration from the unique cultural heritage of the Great Spa Towns of Europe. 2. Developing Skills and Attitudes of Young People: Issue: Youth face challenges in developing essential life skills, such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are vital for their personal and professional growth. Need: There is a growing demand for youth development programs that go beyond formal education to instill practical skills and a growth mindset. Objective: Through youth theater (acting and dancing) our project seeked to empower participants with a range of skills, including creativity, adaptability, self-expression, and confidence, inspired by the artistic heritage of the Great Spa Towns of Europe. 3. Strengthening European Values and Countering Prejudices: Issue: Prejudices and stereotypes persist, hindering social cohesion and European unity. Need: Young people must be equipped with the knowledge and tools to challenge stereotypes and promote European values of tolerance, diversity, and solidarity. Objective: Our project actively engaged participants in discussions and activities aimed at breaking down prejudices, fostering respect for cultural differences, and strengthening their commitment to shared European values, all within the context of the historically significant Great Spa Towns of Europe. 4. Raising Awareness About Socially Relevant Topics: Issue: Today's youth are often disengaged from critical societal issues, limiting their potential as active and informed citizens. Need: Youth need opportunities to explore and understand pressing social topics, inspiring them to become proactive agents of change. Objective: "Immersing in the Great Spa Towns of Europe" could leverage the historical and cultural significance of Baden bei Wien and other Great Spa Towns to raise awareness about relevant social issues and encourage participants to engage actively in their communities. Our project not only fulfilled the objectives outlined in the Erasmus+ call for applications but also draws a direct connection to the rich cultural heritage of the Great Spa Towns of Europe. By immersing participants in the captivating history and cultural significance of these towns, we aimed to provide a unique context for achieving the outlined objectives. This context could not only contribute to participants' personal growth, intercultural competence, and commitment to the European project but also was able to serve as a source of inspiration, creativity, and engagement throughout the exchange. BeyondBühne was committed to delivering a project that not only met the outlined objectives but also will leave a lasting impact on the lives of the young participants and the communities they represent.
