Objectives

The main objective of the project was to strengthen the competences of youth workers in the field of accessible music creation and songwriting using digital tools, so that they could implement inclusive and low-threshold musical activities in their local communities. We aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in composing and producing music using Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs), without the need for professional instruments, formal music education or advanced technical background. The project was designed to demonstrate that music creation can be accessible to young people regardless of their socio-economic background, geographical location, or access to professional music schools and expensive equipment. A key goal was to empower youth workers working in communities where young people have limited opportunities for structured artistic education, yet show strong interest in music and creative expression. By equipping participants with simple, adaptable and affordable digital tools, we wanted to enable them to transfer these methods into their daily youth work practice. Another important objective was to foster intercultural cooperation and mutual understanding through collaborative songwriting in international groups. Through joint creative processes, participants were expected to develop not only artistic and digital competences, but also communication skills, teamwork abilities, intercultural awareness and confidence in using English as a working language. The project also aimed to promote creativity, self-expression and innovation in youth work by integrating music, digital technologies and collaborative learning methodologies. By the end of the training, participants were expected to understand the full process of songwriting – from idea generation and basic chord progressions to recording, arranging and presenting a final track – and to feel confident enough to replicate this process with young people in their home countries.
