In close cooperation with ten European partner organisations, FIMCAP organised a capacity-building weekend for young voluntary youth leaders. Focus point of the weekend were three pillars of change, regarded as essential for fostering a better world for children and youth. These pillars included educational activities, advocacy work, and the sharing of good practices. During the weekend, participants explored one of these three focus areas in depth, shared experiences and gained new skills and insights. The objectives of the project closely aligned with the three core areas of action outlined in the EU youth strategy: empower, engage and connect. Empowerment: the first objective was to enhance the capacities and skills of young youth leaders, empowering them to actively participate in European and international youth work. Engagement: the second objective was to motivate participants to become active voluntary youth leaders on the European level, with the hope of inspiring a long-term commitment to this role. Connection: the third objective focused on strengthening the collaboration between youth organisations by connecting youth leaders in their respective areas of expertise.
