Objectives

With the project "Postcards from the coty" we gave 36 young people from Bulgaria, Georgia and Armenia the opportunity to gain skills in creating postcards with messages about environmental protection in settlements from photos taken by them. The 6 Youth Workers from the two partner organizations also needed to exchange good practices in working with young people in the field of environmental protection, to share and upgrade their professional skills. We live in a digital era that is constantly developing. In parallel, more and more cases of exclusion, isolation, inadequate behavior are being registered among young people. Society, especially young people, cannot cope with so many changes. The reasons can be many, from indifference to lack of specialized education, and the effects can be dramatic. This generates changes in behavior, with serious consequences, especially for young people, who think less and less about the real dangers in the ecosystem of cities and other settlements, living in a digital world. With this project, three NGOs from Bulgaria, Armenia and Georgia gave young people a chance to be active and send messages to their communities. In addition to digital postcards, we are restoring the type of paper postcards, a type almost unknown to modern youth. In this context, the project offered young people the opportunity to expand their skills in sending messages by applying informal methods and emotions for all age groups, thus expanding the scope of influence of the activities. The topic was very important for the three partner organizations because of our interests, as we all work in the field of environmental education of young people. We have a desire to acquire new knowledge and competencies, which contributes to expanding the opportunities of each NGO to work with young people in terms of preserving the ecosystem of settlements, especially during a crisis - health and economic, such as we have been living in in recent years. The main goal of the project is to raise awareness among young people about sustainable living and environmental protection in settlements through active European citizenship. Specific objectives are: stimulating young people for active European citizenship towards an ecological environment in cities; real implementation of activities for a sustainable and green environment in everyday life with an impact through art; making cards with messages with digital tools through which young people can create social campaigns in their communities promoting a sustainable and green environment; raising awareness among young people about the importance of a sustainable lifestyle; encouraging youth initiative; promoting the Erasmus+ program; sustainable partnership between partner organizations. By implementing this project, we shared with young people various creative tools for environmental education and learned how to raise environmental awareness through art in the situation of the information flow that floods us daily, including fake news. The benefit for young people is: - better awareness of the concepts of civic and social participation, the rights and obligations of young people as citizens and the opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme - improved skills for social inclusion, interaction, teamwork and capacity for cooperation - development of constructive and creative critical thinking skills. - improved communication in English - increased engagement in community life - solidarity and interest in community issues - greater self-confidence. - development of motivational attitudes and application of one's own ideas, thoughts, concepts - inclusive, non-discriminatory and multicultural attitude We are convinced that art is what will influence the emotional decision for greater activity to protect the ecosystem in settlements and the postcards created by young people within the project prove this.
