By implementing the EYOUth Vote project, the overarching aim is to combat the declining participation of young individuals in European political activities and ensure that the interests of young people are adequately represented in policy-making. The alarming trends observed in countries across the European Union, with varying degrees of youth political participation, underscore the importance and urgency of this initiative. The data from the survey conducted in the Razlog municipality, along with the further research on the issue son EU level further reinforces the pressing need for such a project. Thus our objectives are: -Raise Awareness & Improve Understanding about the significance of young people`s vote especially in the EU elections, emphasizing the direct impact EU decisions have on their daily lives. -Promote active participation and empowerment of young people and highlight the significance of youth voting in the upcoming 2024 EU elections -Raise awareness and promote understanding about the underlying reasons for the observed low levels of youth political participation across EU nations, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the barriers and challenges faced by the young electorate. -Enhance the understanding on EU voting among youth and familiarize them with EU institutions and voting processes . Trough the project we are looking forward to: Raise Awareness and Address Civic Apathy among youth: Through this project, we wish to break the cycle of disengagement and apathy observed in the youth. By shedding light on the importance of their role in the democratic process and emphasizing the tangible impacts of their participation, we hope to rekindle their interest and involvement. Boost Political Engagement: Tackle the declining participation of young people in the European political scene, particularly in the electoral process. By informing and mobilizing the youth, we hope to see a substantial increase in their representation in European Union and national level elections. Bridge Information Gaps: Address the alarming lack of awareness and understanding about the EU elections and their significance. This became evident from the survey in Razlog where a large portion of the youth were unaware of the upcoming EU elections in 2024. Enhance Trust in Political Systems: Combat the prevalent sentiment among young Europeans that their votes don’t matter or influence policy. By creating a sense of relevance and trust, we want to instill the belief that their votes indeed shape the future of the EU. Address Specific Concerns of Youth: Make political discussions more relatable and pertinent to the youth by ensuring that their immediate concerns and experiences are reflected in policy debates.
