Objectives

The "Green Paths: Eco-Tourism and Nature Conservation" project aims to solve a range of problems and requirements identified in the Smolyan and Rhodopes region through preliminary studies and projects. Our main goal is to improve the conditions for sustainable tourism in the region by developing eco-trails and routes that will appeal to both local and international tourists while also protecting and not taxing the region's natural resources. Second, we work to raise environmental awareness and participation among local youngsters. According to our research, there is a considerable enthusiasm among young people in participating in voluntary initiatives and sustainable practices, but they frequently lack the necessary information or a guide. As a result, we incorporate educational components into the project by hosting seminars, workshops, and volunteer events to assist them transform their curiosity into action. Our third goal is to establish a network of cooperation among the region's diverse stakeholders, including local governments, educational institutions, small and medium-sized businesses, and non-governmental organizations. We think that only an integrated strategy and the collaboration of all stakeholders can lead to sustainable growth. The project aligns with our larger aim to support youth development by achieving these goals. We believe that "Green Paths" will not only help to ensure the ecological sustainability and tourism appeal of Smolyan and the Rhodopes, but will also provide a platform for young people to grow as responsible, knowledgeable, and engaged citizens. The initiative "Green Paths: Eco-Tourism and Nature Conservation" aims to address critical needs and challenges in the Smolyan and Rhodopes region. Based on our extensive research and observations, we developed a plan and objectives that will contribute significantly to the growth of sustainable tourism and environmental protection in the region. The project's goals are diverse, encompassing a wide range of activities such as education, practical skills, partnerships, and information distribution. We intend to offer ten educational modules and seminars for at least 300 young people in the neighborhood. Furthermore, the creation of at least two new eco-trails within the next six months will help to attract tourists interested in sustainable development. We will train at least fifty young people in basic environmental principles and first aid during the project's duration, as well as form collaborations with five local groups and two educational institutions. By the end of the first phase of the project, we will have produced and distributed 500 pamphlets on healthy living and environmental conservation. We have also developed a wide collection of other initiatives and activities that will help us achieve our primary objectives. For example, hosting the "Eco-Quest in the Rhodopes" will provide a new and enjoyable approach for young people to learn about nature conservation. Following that, "Cooking with Rhodope Ingredients" and "Art from Waste" will concentrate on resource sustainability. Language cafes and mountain movies will foster intercultural interaction and education, while "Rhodope Myths and Legends" and "Green Yoga" will enhance the region's cultural and spiritual history. These objectives and activities are intended to promote synergy and have the greatest possible impact on the region's long-term development. We will not only improve environmental culture and sustainability in Smolyan through this initiative, but we will also give a platform for youngsters to develop their leadership abilities and actively participate with the community. Such a multifaceted approach to sustainable tourism and conservation opens up a plethora of chances for education, recreation, and personal growth, and we are excited to contribute to this magnificent location.
