Objectives

The concrete objectives of the project were: O1: Promote accessibility in youth centres and organisations across Europe working with arts and culture to support the participation of people with sensory disabilities through a certification "Senses Label" O2: Create real opportunities for people with sensory disabilities through exhibitions of sensory art.

Background

SENSES: Sensory Art as a Tool for Empowerment of Young People with Sensory Disabilities was developed to support young people with sensory disabilities by using arts and creativity as inclusive tools for self-expression, empowerment, and wellbeing. The project addresses the limited access to cultural and art activities often faced by youth with disabilities, as well as the need for more inclusive practices in the non-formal education and cultural sectors. Through the implementation of art workshops for young people with sensory disabilities, sensory art exhibitions and the creation of the SENSES label and online course we aimed to achieve long-term impact by fostering systemic change in organisations across Europe and ongoing commitment to accessibility and inclusivity beyond the project’s end.
