Objectives

"European Diversity in youth hands" is a youth exchange which aim to promote the core EU values of diversity, tolerance, respect, solidarity and humans rights. Through the project we want to celebrate the EU diversity, values and solidarity that, especially during the coronavirus pandemic, are crucial to overcome this crisis. Furthermore we want to promote young people’s active citizenship in general and their European citizenship particular, to Develop solidarity and tolerance among young people and Foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries. The general aim of Erasmus + program is to match the youth priorities: our project corresponds to it. During the project we will create a platform where young people can meet, share and extend their knowledge, their worldview. For this reason we develop the following specific objectives: a) to promote youth communication b) to promote non-formal education c )to give a chance to youth to share their culture d) to foster youngsters to respect the diversity e) to know more about our world diversity and tolerance The aim of this youth exchange is to promote intercultural dialogue and understanding in order to increase the awareness and consciousness of youngsters about the global social issues and therefore, to equip them with necessary knowledge, competences and methods in order to fight the escalation of the situation across Europe.Youth exchange is aimed to gain cultural awareness and to promote social inclusion, tolerance, diversity and solidarity, which is connected to EU 2020 Targets. Through this exchange we hope to increase cross-community contact and reduce polarisation, as well as making them aware and more respectful of issues and social conditions affecting young people in other European countries The project will also promote healthy living by providing sports sessions, outdoor activities and the opportunity for participants to help prepare some meals and increase their awareness of food hygiene, under the guidance of a qualified cook. We aim to educate participants about social and cultural changes occurring in Europe and to make them aware of employment and volunteering opportunities in Europe. This project will bring together youngsters from different backgrounds among EU countries to act together as a team. The mission of this one week of youth exchanges is to spread information about EU opportunities for young people and to empower them to be active citizens of Europe. The main goal of this project is to show young people, regardless of the difficult background they have, how to take an active role in the life of their community and provide them possibility to get new skills and knowledge and increase their ability to create projects tackling and solving the common community problems. Through the implementation of the project, we want to give young people with fewer opportunities and those who are interested an opportunity to participate in an European project, that will raise awareness, teach and strengthen the competencies and soft skill that we are deprived of through education and are only available to us through informal education aimed at diverse social and cultural societies. The goals of our projects are to promote and strengthen tolerance to diversity, raise social responsibility towards cultural heritage, raise awareness of individual beliefs about cultural goods, improve the ability of teamwork, strengten the sense of responbility, independence, tolerance, learn about other cultures, and recognizing local, national and European cultural heritage. During the project we will talk about: Erasmus+, YouthPass, cuisine of participating coutries, EU, cultural heritage with getting to know the attractions and traditions, stereotypes, traditions of Cyprus with examples in the region, getting to know minorities, refugees, creativity and tolerance. The main objectives of the project are the following: - promoting the value of cultural diversity - promoting tolerance and mutual understanding among various cultures - raising self-awareness of young people’s personal identity - introducing the idea of individual differences and equality of opportunities - raising awareness on importance of social skills development as a life long learning process - encouraging young people for greater involvement within their community - providing them with information about the ERASMUS+ Programme - and looking into how Youthpass can be used as a tool for intercultural learning and reflection in European youth projects
