The project "Guardians of the Environment - Youth for Green Initiatives, Ideas and Solutions" (abbreviated GOE) aimed to provide young people and the youth organizations involved with the project with the necessary ecological competences for effective implementation of environmental protection and combating the effects of climate change in their communities. The project included an environmental campaign prepared by young people, which drew attention to the destructive effects of climate change and environmental pollution in our communities, motivated fellow citizens to actively participate in solving the climate crisis and provided them with tips and tricks on sustainability. Another goal of the GOE project was to actively contribute to improving the environment in the Moravian-Silesian Region by organizing a plogging activity that contributed to cleaning the environment in the town of Jablunkov and its surroundings. We also carried out a public tree planting in the forests of the Silesian Beskydy, during which over 1,000 saplings of holm oak and pedunculate oak, which are native species to this area, were planted, thereby contributing to the restoration of local forests, the reduction of greenhouse gas carbon dioxide by up to 25,000 kg per year and the restoration of natural refuges for local fauna. The GOE project included disadvantaged youth, who had the chance to develop through project activities, acquire new skills and actively engage in civic life.
