Objectives

Our project aimed to harness the power of sports to foster holistic development and social change among young people. We focused on implementing the Education Through Sport (ETS) methodology, an innovative approach that integrates sports and physical activities with educational principles. By combining the physical and cognitive aspects of sports, ETS empowers young people to learn while they play, fostering a holistic and sustainable approach to education. We wanted to provide youth workers with new methods, strategies, and innovative games that would utilize the education through sport methodology. Our goal was not merely to present them with a set of prescribed games, but rather to equip them with the tools and knowledge to apply the methodology effectively in their work with young people. We aimed to introduce non-traditional games, uncommon in many countries, that would encourage active participation from all team members, fostering inclusivity and breaking down barriers. By making these games accessible to a wider audience, we hoped to inspire more young people to engage in physical activity, leading to healthier and happier communities. The objectives were: 1) to introduce the education through sport methodology as a tool to teach something while doing sports 2) to Introduce non-traditional sports and games as an engaging way to encourage young people to become more excited and active in physical activities. 3) to develop ability to develop their own sport games, using the education through sport methodology 4) to develop the ability to develop their own non-traditional games, that prioritize inclusivity over competition, ensuring they can be enjoyed by any group. 5) to develop the ability to develop teamwork and leadership 6) to create a platform for individuals to exchange and showcase their successful approaches and experiences from their own countries 6) to find ways and strategies how to involve youngsters with fewer opportunities in social life through non-traditional sports
