Objectives

The be.you.tiful project was initiated in response to a growing sense of social isolation and disconnection among young people across our communities. Together with our partners, we had observed that young people were increasingly uncertain about their future, regardless of their socio-economic backgrounds. This was due to a combination of complex factors, including the long-term effects of the pandemic, ongoing geopolitical tensions, energy crises, rapid technological shifts, demographic changes, misinformation, and the rise of populism. These challenges significantly affected young people’s sense of stability, inclusion, and agency in society. Recognising the urgency of the situation, we designed be.you.tiful to build the resilience and adaptability of youth workers, enabling them to better support young people in navigating these uncertainties. Our aim was to foster key competences that help young people connect socially and professionally, and to ensure that they are not left behind during times of change. The project was strongly aligned with the European Youth Strategy 2019–2027, focusing on its three core pillars: ENGAGE, CONNECT, and EMPOWER. Through our activities, we contributed to creating learning environments that not only supported individual development, but also strengthened democratic participation and European identity. In the framework of be.you.tiful, we pursued the following specific objectives: To develop the resources and competencies of youth workers to create transformational and sustainable learning environments for supporting youth inclusion in social and professional life. To increase the knowledge related to social connectedness and professional inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities. To enhance the skills in guiding and empowering young people on the path of professional inclusion and social connectedness. To increase the motivation of 27 youth workers to be more inclusive and work with disadvantaged youth. To equip 27 youth workers with innovative and quality non-formal education methods and tools that foster social and professional connection and inclusion. To provide youth organisations and youth workers with opportunities for cooperation and peer support, fostering quality improvements in European youth work. By achieving these objectives, the project strengthened the capacities of both individual youth workers and their organisations, offering long-term benefits to local communities and enhancing the impact of youth work across Europe.
