Objectives

The project “Silver Europe: Art of Cinema for Youth Work” aimed to strengthen youth workers’ competences by introducing cinematography as an educational tool in non-formal learning. Its main goal was to broaden the range of creative and reflective methods available to youth professionals and demonstrate how film can foster intercultural dialogue, inclusion, and critical thinking among young people. The training course provided hands-on experience with storytelling, filming, and editing — but primarily in an educational and social context rather than a professional film-making one. Participants learned to use film as a tool for reflection, dialogue, and engagement with topics such as cultural diversity, human rights, and active citizenship. The activity gathered 30 participants from 10 European partner organisations (CZ, DE, PT, IT, TR, LT, ES, HU, PL), including 10 participants with fewer opportunities. As a tangible outcome, several short educational films were created and disseminated through the organisation’s social media channels, serving as valuable resources and inspiration for youth workers and educators across Europe.
