Objectives

The youth exchange aimed to give young artistically active participants from Ukraine, Belarus (residing in Poland), Serbia, and Germany the opportunity to get to know one another, exchange experiences and ideas, learn from each other and from experienced artists, and inspire and empower one another. Especially the Belarusian and Ukrainian participants are in a personally precarious situation due to dictatorship and war. Many of them have left their home countries and must organize their lives and settle in unfamiliar environments. By participating in this international project, they were meant to be given the opportunity to spend a few carefree, motivating, and inspiring days. The focus was on engaging together with the central theme of the youth exchange, “Home & Identity,” on a personal, scientific and artistic level. As a result of the artistic exploration of the theme “Home & Identity,” the artworks created were to be presented in an offline exhibition and subsequently also online. In this way, the project aimed to motivate as many people as possible to engage empathetically with this important and highly topical subject. Furthermore, the project sought to enable participants to acquire a wide range of competencies that support active civic engagement. The participants were expected to strengthen their skills in teamwork, project work, event management, exhibition design, and the use of social media.
