Objectives

The aim of the project is to get young people from all over Europe excited about democracy and to motivate them to become more involved and participate. The specific occasion is the 2024 European elections, in which young people and first-time voters in particular are encouraged to participate. The European Election Project aims to reach as many people as possible. To this end, participants from different European countries will come together for five days to develop ideas for workshops and events that can be implemented locally. The project team will play a supporting role and offer experience from previous projects. To ensure successful development, online meetings will be held before and after the event to clarify needs and answer questions about content and organisation. The participants become multipliers for democracy and participation within the framework of the project. The participants come from a broad social spectrum. To this end, the project works closely with local partner organisations. After the implementation and planning of the local project ideas, they will be carried out by the multipliers themselves in the run-up to the European elections. The aim is to reach as broad a target group of young people as possible throughout Europe. Taking up the idea of participation, the project is based on the ideas and needs of the participants themselves. The project team mainly acts in a supporting role, for example by giving feedback and answering questions. Reflection on one's own results and the respective work stages plays a crucial role in enabling the development of project ideas. Communication during the project should take place at eye level and on an equal footing, for example by using the moderation method during the work phases. The materials and contents developed will also be available after the end of the project to ensure a long-term impact. The competences that multipliers acquire during the project enable them to implement their own projects in the future. All in all, this is a project that reaches many young people throughout Europe and motivates them to more participation and democracy beyond the borders of the project.
