Objectives

The project “Step by Step to a Sustainable Future” aimed to address the problems of over-consumption and inappropriate waste management in order to encourage and motivate young people to take responsibility for sustainable growth. In this way, awareness was raised of how personal decisions affect the environment. In addition, the project promoted intercultural exchange between young people from six different European countries, enabling them to learn about the value of a sustainable lifestyle and the social and environmental impacts of consumer behavior. The objectives of this youth exchange were as follows To raise young people's awareness of environmental and sustainability issues, emphasizing the importance of sustainable use of natural resources and energy. Familiarize young people with the principles of ecological footprint and waste prevention, and help them understand their individual and societal impact on the environment. Encourage young people to take responsibility for better waste management and raise awareness of proper waste sorting, recycling and waste minimization. To motivate young people through interactive and engaging methods, emphasizing that environmental education should be less boring and more fun. To promote cultural exchange by bringing together young people from different European countries. To encourage young people to think not only as local citizens but also as global citizens, understanding the cross-border implications of environmental issues. Encourage young people to become more active and effective participants in environmental issues by helping them to implement projects and promote environmentally friendly initiatives.
