Objectives

The project aimed to address the urgent environmental challenges highlighted by recent reports, such as those from the European Environment Agency and the United Nations. These reports underscored that pollution and climate change were leading to severe health issues in Europe, including causing 13% of deaths. Specifically, air pollution resulted in over 400,000 deaths annually, and heat waves exacerbated by climate change posed additional health risks. In 2022, Europe experienced temperatures of 2.3 degrees Celsius higher than pre-industrial levels, contributing to extreme weather events like famines, forest fires, and rising sea levels. We identified a significant gap in public awareness and understanding of climate change and the role of green technologies in mitigating its effects. Surveys indicated that the general public, particularly young people, had little knowledge about these issues. Given this context, our project aimed to promote the use of green technologies as a solution to environmental problems. These technologies focus on reducing reliance on fossil fuels, utilizing clean energy sources, and enhancing energy efficiency, while also improving water management, waste management, and recycling processes. Aims of our project: -To raise young people's awareness of the future challenges of environmental pollution and climate change and to increase their motivation to tackle these challenges. -To encourage young people to use green technologies to prevent environmental pollution and combat climate change.
