The fashion industry was known for its significant environmental footprint, including water pollution, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste generation. By promoting sustainable fashion practices, the project aimed to reduce the industry's negative impact on ecosystems and natural resources. By carrying out the "My Conscious Wardrobe: Youth Embracing Sustainable Fashion" Youth Exchange project, the aim was to equip youth with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to make sustainable fashion choices and contribute to a more ethical and environmentally conscious fashion industry. The project sought to empower youth to become change agents and inspire broader societal shifts towards a sustainable and socially responsible fashion culture. Our project Objectives: 1. To educate youth about the environmental and social issues associated with the fashion industry through workshops and campaigns. Raised awareness about sustainable fashion practices, ethical production, and the importance of conscious consumerism. 2. To build their skill development by providing opportunities for youth to develop practical skills related to sustainable fashion, such as upcycling, clothing repair, and alteration. Empowered them to create their own clothes using eco-friendly materials and techniques. 3. To encourage youth to adopt sustainable fashion habits by promoting clothing swaps, second-hand shopping, and responsible wardrobe management. Encouraged them to prioritize quality, longevity, and ethical considerations in their fashion choices. 4. To improve teamwork and intercultural skills, mainly by providing an opportunity to work in a multicultural setting. 5. To improve participants' knowledge of the Erasmus+ program and inspired young people to become involved and step out of their comfort zones by participating in intercultural activities. 6. To empower youth to advocate for policy changes that promote sustainability and social responsibility in the fashion industry. Encouraged them to engage with policymakers, raise awareness about the need for systemic change, and support initiatives aimed at improving the industry's practices.
