The "European Deafblind Youth Training – Empowerment of Youth Workers" had the overarching goal of strengthening both youth workers and young people with hearing and visual impairments – often referred to as deafblind – in their personal and professional development. Deafblind youth are often affected by social isolation and face significant challenges related to self-confidence, empowerment, and social participation. The project provided a platform for exchange and training, aiming to impart professional skills and practical methods for working with deafblind young people. The focus was not only on the personal development of the participants but also on strengthening their role as multipliers within their respective organizations and communities. In close collaboration with partner organizations from Germany, Belgium, Spain, Malta, Greece, and the European Deafblind Union (EDbU), an international environment was created, centered around mutual support, intercultural learning, and knowledge exchange. The goal was for participants not only to expand their individual competencies but also to pass on their newly acquired knowledge – ultimately improving the social and professional inclusion of deafblind youth in Europe in the long term.
