The primary aim of the project “Permaculture: A Regenerative Future” (P.A.R.F.) was to empower youth workers from across Europe with the knowledge, tools, and mindset needed to foster sustainability, resilience, and regeneration in their communities and youth work practices. Through a blend of experiential learning, theory, and embodied practices rooted in permaculture, the project sought to address not only environmental challenges but also social and emotional dimensions of youth work. Our objectives were threefold: First, to introduce participants to permaculture as a practical and philosophical framework for designing sustainable systems—both in land use and in social/community contexts. Second, to support the professional development of youth workers by equipping them with innovative tools for facilitation, community building, and non-formal education. Third, to inspire behavioural change, empowering participants to become catalysts for transformation in their organisations and local environments. Beyond individual learning, we also aimed to strengthen cooperation between partner organisations by building a shared foundation of values and practices around regenerative youth work. We envisioned this training as the seed of a long-term network committed to ecological literacy, inclusion, and youth empowerment.
