The project aimed to strengthen young people’s active engagement in civil society and in the relations between Türkiye, Germany, and the European Union. Its overall goal was to empower young people to take responsibility, develop their own ideas, and actively contribute to civic spaces as well as bilateral relationships through cooperation and non-formal learning. One key objective was the development of tangible project design and implementation skills. Participants were supported in gaining practical competences in project management, teamwork, facilitation, communication, and evaluation, enabling them to design and implement their own initiatives beyond the project framework. Another central objective was to encourage active citizenship and social responsibility. By designing the mobilities as youth-led and peer-to-peer spaces, participants were enabled to actively shape the programme, identify shared challenges in Germany and Türkiye, and develop concrete project ideas addressing these issues. The project also aimed to enhance intercultural understanding and dialogue between young people from Germany and Türkiye. Through intercultural learning sessions, shared daily experiences, and structured reflection, participants were encouraged to reflect on their own cultural identities and engage with diverse perspectives in a respectful and open way. Creating safer and inclusive spaces for personal development was another important objective. The project sought to reduce barriers to participation and ensure inclusion, gender balance, and diversity throughout all project phases, allowing young people with different backgrounds and experiences to participate on equal footing. In addition, the project aimed to develop leadership and communication skills and strengthen participants’ sense of social responsibility and community engagement by encouraging active involvement, responsibility-taking, and collaboration in international teams. Finally, the project aimed to connect young people with decision-makers and civil society actors in the context of EU–Türkiye and German–Turkish relations. These exchanges contributed to a better understanding of political and social decision-making processes and reinforced the importance of youth perspectives in democratic life.
