The project aimed to - improve the knowledge of the participants about the European Union, its institutions and the EU legislative process - familiarise the participants with the EURHOPE campaign and the political demands by JEF ahead of the 2024 European elections - improve the participants' skills in public speaking, teamwork, research, English as a foreign language, negotiation, building an argument and finding a compromise - improve the organising team's skills of working in a team, managing a team, motivating colleagues, sticking to timelines, preparing and executing plans and diverting from them if necessary, speaking in public, interacting with people from different cultural contexts, interacting professionally with institutions, public offices and resolving crisis situations - strengthen the organising team's European identity and networks - show to the political scene in Erfurt and Thuringia that there is an active European political youth in the city and region who is getting involved and making its voice heard - benefit the development of JEF Thuringia as a local and regional youth association - give an opportunity for young Germans from different regions to connect around their shared European values and to further contribute to overcoming the structural and social divide between the west German and east German regions - provide members of JEF Germany with valuable skills and knowledge related to the preparation and conduct of an MEU simulation - add the first location in central/east Germany to the European network of MEUs - advertise the region with young talented Europeans, contributing to the Commission's efforts to help overcome the talent development trap - supplement the work of the Europe Direct Centre Erfurt in spreading European values and connecting local, regional, national and European youth
