The TECA Project aimed to use theater as a tool for cultural awareness, inclusion, and empowerment among migrant youth and youth workers. It focused on: 1. Training Youth Workers – Equipping them with creative methods to support migrant youth through theater, storytelling, and non-formal education. 2. Empowering Migrant Youth – Enhancing self-expression, confidence, and social participation through creative workshops. 3. Promoting Cultural Awareness – Breaking language barriers, fostering multilingual communication, and encouraging cross-cultural dialogue. 4. Strengthening International Collaboration – Connecting youth organizations across Europe, developing sustainable educational tools, and expanding inclusive theater practices. 5. The project fostered inclusion, creativity, and social integration, creating lasting impact beyond its duration.
The "Theater Enlighten Cultural Awareness" (TECA) project was initiated to address the growing challenges of discrimination and racism, which hinder the integration of migrant youth into civic and social life. These issues highlight the need for innovative approaches to foster inclusivity and empower marginalized communities. By applying for this project, Alrahallah Theater-Berlin e.V. aimed to leverage theater as a transformative tool to promote cultural awareness, self-expression, and solidarity among migrant youth while equipping youth workers with the skills and methodologies needed to support these individuals effectively. The project addresses critical needs, including empowering migrant youth by building their self-esteem and key competencies such as cultural awareness and multilingual skills, enhancing the professional capabilities of youth workers, and promoting inclusion and diversity. It also fosters knowledge exchange among partner organizations from Germany, Luxembourg, Turkey, and Belgium, enriching youth work practices across Europe. By uniting efforts to combat racism and promote shared cultural values, the TECA project strives to create lasting social change and strengthen community cohesion through theater.
