Objectives

Conciousness. Responsibility. Empowerment. With europefiction next gen we wanted to encourage a new generation of youth workers and more experienced participants to take over responsibility for the aims of the project europefiction with all its creative potentials. In these times of change and Uncertainty for the stakeholders and the participants / trainees it was important to evaluate the values we all want to defend in future contexts. What strategies do we need, and which skills need to be learned to creat atmospheres of developement, freedom and artistical creation.

Background

The major aim for this project was to raise the awareness of intercultural issues among youngsters and professionals from a a cultural field working with youngsters. In these current times of political and economical uncertainty for the upcoming years and on the recent past of Covid-19-experiences and the war in ukraine it was absoultely necessary to develop new strategies for cultural collaboration. The activation of an active citizenship concerning own environmental backgrounds and european levels was important to implement in the project. The subjects discussed and on which the participants were led to work are migration, gender, all forms of discrimination and associated violence (racism, classism, feminism...) and ecology/sustainability. Integration and openness are often conflicting with the desire to maintain and protect social and cultural heritage. In according with the promotion of Article 2 of the Treaty on the European Union, our aim is to contribute to stimulating a debate, a creative space for Europeans and migrants - artists and citizens - and have them be participants and observers of the social experience of being/living together.
