Our objectives within this small-scale partnership project were: 1. To foster dialogue between participants and participating organisations and strengthen youth participation in Poland and Germany, empowering young people to become more mindful of the environment. 2. To make participation in our local projects more accessible to young people, including people from disadvantaged backgrounds. 3. To equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to make sustainable choices in their daily lives 4. To bring a greater European dimension to our youth work at the local level through regular exchange of ideas, practices and mobilities – between staff and participants involved in ARKTIC and NGO Logos' local projects.
We applied for this project because we strongly believed that, with adequate support, it could bring meaningful change for young people, the environment, and our partner organizations. The core need we aimed to address was the urgent demand for greater youth engagement in sustainability and climate action. Young people are key drivers of change, and by equipping them with the right knowledge, skills, and attitudes, we contributed directly to the Erasmus+ priority of environmental protection and the fight against climate change. Additionally, both partner organizations identified clear internal needs. ARKTIC, being newer to Erasmus+, sought to benefit from Logos’ extensive experience in youth work and non-formal education. In turn, Logos aimed to strengthen its work on environmental topics by drawing on ARKTIC’s expertise in sustainability and ecological education. Through this collaboration, we not only empowered youth but also built stronger, more capable organizations.
