Inclusion of marginalised young peopleBridging intercultural, intergenerational and social divideCultural heritage

Objectives

The project was based on the two organizations' desire to give young people a stepping stone towards greater intercultural understanding, to give them a sense of empowerment as well as to give the young people the opportunity to build up mental stamina, personal perseverance and at greater sense of independence. To make the young people see that by engaging in cooperation and European society they can create opportunities for themselves to feel influential and equal regardless of personal, social and professional challenges With this project we wanted to take as a starting point the challenges we see amongst many young people today in terms of engaging in society both at local, national and European level. We wanted to support our young in meeting unfamiliar social and cultural contexts, taking responsibility and believing in themselves by taking ownership of each project phase. The aim was to create a safe space for them to take initiative, to stay persistant and to be curious about other people´s views and life paths as well as to help them meet their own personal challenges in a proactive and constructive way in cultural encounters with other young people from Europe. We wanted to support the young people in gaining greater insight and self-awareness, to motivate them to take initiative, to find their personal drive and possibly an internal desire to contribute to society as a whole and to see for themselves the benefits which can come from the interaction with fellow human beings you beforehand do not know.
