Both KØN and NME wanted to achieve knowledge and learning experiences from this project. We especially wished to know more about what practices might work and not work, when wanting to reach youth in remote areas and to support and strengthen our digital capacity. We also wanted to create a constructive testing ground where we could experiment with different ideas and approaches and ultimately allow other museums to learn from both our successes and challenges.
With this project, KØN – Gender Museum Denmark (KØN) and The National Museum of Education (NME) aimed to enhance our knowledge and modernize our practices related to digitalization. We wanted to explore how digital tools could be used to democratize the knowledge held by our museums, making information about gender, inclusion, and diversity more accessible to young people across geographical and social divides. The project addressed the need for improved digital pedagogies, updated IT equipment, and concrete strategies for reaching youth in remote and marginalized communities
