The main goal of the project was: - to strengthen the capacity of youth organizations to promote gender equality in youth work through the co-creation of practical, engaging tools rooted in non-formal education. We aimed to achieve this by fostering meaningful transnational cooperation between two organizations with different profiles but a shared commitment to inclusion and innovation. Specifically, we set out to achive 4 objectives: 1.To bring together two european youth organizations with different profile but common need in improving their work with gender equality/gender mainstreaming 2.To build organizations’ capacity to promote gender equality in youth work by creating the space for exchanging knowledge, resources, and best practices 3.To create a shared toolbox of innovative tools that includes a simulation game and two exercises about gender equality 4.To share produced tools with the practitioners inside and outside the consortium
We applied for the “I GET YOU” project based on a shared need in both partner organizations to improve how we approach gender equality and gender mainstreaming in our youth work. While both organizations were already active in the field of gender inclusion, we recognized that existing tools and resources often relied heavily on theoretical content such as terminology, statistics, and PowerPoint presentations, without offering youth-friendly, engaging formats. Therefore, the project was designed to directly address this major issue and fulfill such specific needs: -To create relevant, participatory tools for addressing gender with young people, especially those from diverse backgrounds and with fewer opportunities. -To strengthen the capacity of our organizations and youth workers to work with gender equality in a way that is engaging, inclusive, and adaptable to various contexts. -To promote transnational cooperation, bringing together different perspectives from Northern and Southern Europe to co-create innovative, practical resources. -To fill the gap in youth work methodologies by offering a toolbox that “speaks the language” of our target group combining meaningful content with interactive, hands-on delivery.
