Objectives

Youngsters from rural areas face various obstacles and difficulties every day. Even though there are different attempts, objectives, and policy strategies concentrating on rural youth, it is still difficult to say that it has reached “desired level”. Beside policies and strategies on local areas which are defined by national authorities, rural areas also need stronger-well equipped local NGOs and youth organizations. In this manner, a broader sense of youth perspective should be considered. Thus, local organizations should make their works more “visible”. In our YE, with our participants, we aimed to create a “Visibility Plan” for our partners and make them have useful “documents” and “plans” for their locals. Thus, a part of our YE was dedicated to creation of these documents and plans. In our YE we focused on mainly 3 concepts a) Empowerment and encouragement of youngsters from rural areas, b) Creating-enhancing youth perspective about development and sustainability in rural areas, c) Finding best ways to improve ideas of being entrepreneur. In this manner, we can sum up our specific and strategical aims like this; -defining challenges faced by rural youth (such as access to appropriate education opportunities, social inclusion, participation and engagement in civic life, lack of basic services and infrastructures, participation in cultural activities); and finding solutions for them by including youth perspective -creating a “Community Needs Assessment” which defines obstacles and problems as well as describe solutions and opportunities for youth from rural areas -assisting them for extending their world beyond locals and using their capacities accordingly -learning about active citizenship, active participation in inclusive society, and importance of equal access for opportunities -discussing about how to construct and strengthen ideas of “youth identity”, “sustainable locals”, “ecofriendly environment”, “local culture” -improving their digital-media literacy, foreign language skills by practicing and developing non formal educational methods -providing various activities for learning and experiencing job-creation/application process -informing them about Erasmus+ program, its objectives, and principles; Youthapass, its key competences and learning assessments -seeing what kinds of possibilities and opportunities youngsters have in locals -realizing the current situations, problems, obstacles, and challenges in their locals, defining differences and similarities among them -discussing about main reasons behind the risks of poverty and social exclusion by considering the possibilities for coping with those reasons -creating space for valid dialogue among participants from different locals and enable youngsters to participate in decision-making process -empowering youngsters in the field of digital-social-literacy skills and communication-networking -practicing and improving non formal educational techniques and be informed about life-long learning, peer to peer / group learning, learn-to-learn -being aware of EU’s and international principles such as human rights, equal access to opportunities, dignity, social inclusion, diversity, the importance of international cooperation, tolerance, active participation, promotion to societies, active citizenship, respectfulness, equity -improving their language skills and notice the importance of multilingualism -being aware of their own rights as honorable citizens of Europe, raise awareness for the sense of being European -learning about Erasmus+ program, its priorities and Youthpass, its key competences.
